Privacy policy
Effective October 2026
The short version
The Bid Checker runs in your browser. The quote, ZIP and other details you type are not sent to us or anyone else. We don't run ads, we don't sell data, and we don't pass anything to contractors.
Analytics
We use two analytics tools to understand how the site is used. PostHog counts page views and checker use without cookies. Google Analytics counts visits and uses first-party cookies to tell new visitors from returning ones. Neither tool receives the ZIP code or quote amount you type into a checker; we only record which page you used and the verdict. Google signals and ad personalization are turned off. You can block Google Analytics with Google's opt-out browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
Hosting
The site is hosted on Vercel, which keeps standard request logs (IP address, browser type, page requested) to run and protect the service.
If you write to us, we keep your message and address to reply and to fix anything you report. We don't add you to a mailing list.
Links
Pages link to the public data sources we cite. Those sites have their own policies.
Children
The site is meant for adults planning home projects and isn't directed at children.
Questions or requests

Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update the effective date on this page.
